Aamir Khan Is Back With A Spectacular Performance Of The Decade

So it's almost the end of 2016. Many good films came, some with weak storyline too and this year is notable for the films which are made on true stories such as Airlift, Sarbjit, Azhar, Neerja, Aligarh, Anna and many more. And this year various sports based films were released too like M.S. Dhoni, Salman Bhai's Sultan and now here comes Dangal which truly surpasses Sultan in teamrs of everything. Dangal is a true story based movie as well as very well made film on wrestling. Dangal directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao and Siddharth Roy Kapur under the production banner of Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures is a bollywood sports drama / biopic starring Aamir Khan, Fatima Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Sakshi Tanwar, Zaira Wasim and Suhani Bhatnaga in the main lead roles.
The movie Dangal revolves around the life of wrestler, 'Mahavirsingh Phogat' (played by Aamir Khan) a man who couldn't win the gold medal for India but he truly wishes that his daughters (Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari) to fulfill that dream. Aamir's hardwork and dedication for this role can be seen through his performance. He once again proved why he is titled as "Mr. Perfectionist". Director Nitesh Tiwari handles the direction which is just too fantastic that after few minutes, you just start engaging yourself too much with the movie & totally forget that you actually are just watching the movie. He totally succeed to extract brilliant performances from all the cast. All four girls depicting geeta and babita in both age brackets have done a tremendous job. Director's command over story telling is outstanding and he made such an engaging film and very realistic cinema. The screenplay is seamless and very balanced with much needed freshness & contains everything just in the right propotion. It has patriotism that you could feel right in your heart & will surely make you proud even while watching. It's just an inspirational for women & social society who underestimates the power of women. In short Dangal has all the ingredients which a good cinematic product needs.

Dialogues of the movie just nourish your senses, inducing correct emotions; there many scenes that are truly remarkable such as 'Mahavir Singh fights with his daughter which is so emotional', and another scene 'where Aamir Khan massages feet of his sleeping daughter, which clearly reflects that he is just not a ruthless coach but a caring father too' and how could i not mention the entry scene of Aamir Khan when he beats a state level wrestling champion & replies 'Arry dil chotta naa kr national level champion sey haara hai tu'. Even the eye movements and glances from Sakshi Tanwar were terrific & these eye movements surely replaced the unwarranted dialogue.

I do confess that in many scenes Dangal reminded me of Sultan because of same sports. I've seen Sultan somewhat like 2-3 times but for me whole Bollywood is one side while Salman Bhai's films are on another side. I never compare his films with others. Even Dangal can't be compared to Sultan because it was love story and fiction while Dangal is an biopic-drama. Sultan has everything which one super entertainer needs and ofcourse every Salman Bhai's fan enjoys it throughly. While Dangal has many things which are worth watch for those who want to watch a good cinema. Dangal has many technical plus points and also it's realistic making makes it superior. Story has it's limitations but director told it brilliantly. First half is cute, funny with subtle dose of emotions while the second half takes this graph to the horizon & is all about victory & is full of emotions, either it is of defeat, victory or relations.

Now let's come to the music part, we all know for a good movie you need a good synced music. The music for Dangal has been composed by Pritam who has not even yet come out of the fresh success of his latest super-hit album ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ & once again he nailed it with his music and stunned critics as well as listeners.

  • Haanikaarak Bapu is a lyrical as well musical gem. The vocals are impressive. The jest contained in this song is enough to make you rolling with laughter. Dangal title track works as an additional screenplay.
  • Dhaakad (which means a lasting impression/personality) by Raftaar is one hell of a track. The song is a Haryanvi hip-hop rap song, that is full of attitude and spunk & the lyrics are mindblowing. Pritam does a wonderful job by roping in Raftaar.
  • Gilehriyaan is a song of a free spirited girl singing to herself. Pritam’s tune instantly gets you hooked, and you can’t do anything except sit and listen until the magic is over. Jonita Gandhi sounds pitch perfect & there is some very comforting factor in her voice which immediately puts you at ease. But once again, Amitabh Bhattacharya steals the show, he literally a genius.
  • Idiot Banna (“Banna” is a rajasthani word & traditionally means “husband”) is a wedding song & clearly a song where the ladies of the town are singing and dancing, and the men are nowhere to be seen. The Nooran sisters are in superb form and they sound really good. Pritam’s composition perfectly sums up the essence of village weddings, and has a distinct Haryanvi flavour to it and thus creates a very hummable and instantly catchy tune.
  • Naina as the songs starts one is immediately reminded of “Accha chalta hoon, duuao mein yaad rakhna..” but that's it the similarities ends there. Naina is a lyrically superior song with a gorgeous composition by Pritam. Arijit who delivers nothing but sheer brilliance sounds amazingly good. And Naina is one of those songs that might go unnoticed, but is actually a gem!
  • Dangal Title Track works as an additional screenplay. And there are no doubt about that it is the best song of the album & it's totally a Daler paaji’s show all the way as his voice seems the perfect choice for such a song. The song is a pulsating, racy, energetic song that can be described just half of how great it actually is! Pritam has outdone himself here and produced such a heart-rending, motivational song, with such a beautiful composition.

Now talking about the performances by actors. Sakshi Tanwar is superb as always. She lends very good support as a wife of Mahavirsingh. The child actress Zaira Wasim & Suhani Bhatnagar who plays the young role of Geeta and Babita do a competent job of maintaining the audiences attention. And both Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra carry it forward. Kudos. Now last but not the least without whom this film wouldn't have been made the one and only fully dedicated generous actor Aamir Khan Sir. His dedication level in the film is just unmatchable. He always makes me big fan of his work and once again he proved that he is the master blaster actor we've in our hindi film industry. Take a bow sir, just take a bow!! No one else could have played it much better than you. His acting, his emotions, his dialogue delivery and obviously his physics everything was 100%. Overall it was very good end of the 2016 for me. Performance wise Dangal can be his one of the best films.

Dangal is definitely "Movie Of The Year" It's simplly Fantastic! Do not miss this masterpiece.
