Shashaa Tirupati is an Indo-Canadian singer, songwriter, performer, voice over artist born on 21 December 1987 in Surrey, British Columbia. "Vaada Vaada" from 'Kochadaiiyaan’ was her debut song which was composed by A.R.Rahman followed by "Aye Mr. Minor" for 'Kaaviyathalaivan'. She completed her schooling from St. Mary's Convent, Allahabad and Graduated from LA Matheson Secondary School with Governor General's Medallion followed by General Business Administration in Biochemistry & Molecular Biophysics from Simon Fraser University and then completed MBA in operation management from Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning, Pune.
Sasha has lent her voice to over 1000 advertisements for brands including Johnson and Johnson, Mango Slice, Slice Mangola, Scooty, Dabur, Garnier, Lakme, Maggi, Yahoo, Pond's, Pears, and Anchor to name a few. In 2015, she received Vikatan Awards for Best female singer for the song,Naane Varugirenfrom the movie‘Ok kanmani’. Another song -Kaara Aattakaarafrom the same movie gave her a nomination at IIFA Awards. She is of Kashmiri descent, though she owns Canadian citizenship. She is a trained classical singer. She was spotted by A. R. Rahman in Coke Studio Season 3, who gave her the first break to playback singing.
